Mr George Mackintosh
Mr George Mackintosh
A serial entrepreneur with much practical advice to offer about building and selling businesses, in particular how to "make a noise" through marketing and how to punch above your weight in sales.
For entrepreneurs at early stages of new venture creation, George emphasises the importance of "playing out of your skin" through enthusiasm, energy and personal contact.
A Bachelor of Commerce from our University, he worked for Ford, Motorola and Cable & Wireless before venturing out on his own. He has run businesses in the UK, mainland Europe and Hong Kong and partnered with US firms. In the technology and telecommunications markets he has started from scratch, raised money from VCs, competed with giant corporations, made acquisitions and disposals and achieved several successful exits.
The E-Club hosts two regular entrepreneurs in residence (EIRs), Gavin Don and George Mackintosh.
Between them, Gavin and George have a huge wealth of knowledge relevant to entrepreneurs across a broad range of areas. Given the complementary nature of their experience and areas of expertise, Club members are welcome to book sessions with more than one EIR.When meeting an EIR please consider these guidelines:
The EIRs are not professional advisors.
The EIRs are not resources for grant funding information.
The EIRs are not career advisors.
The EIRs are confidential sounding boards for business ideas at all stages of a company's development.
Please come to the meetings prepared to give a short pitch or succinctly explain your concept.
