The University of Edinburgh maintains good relationships with a number of finance and investment professionals. There will be several visiting speakers each semester from within the investment management industry, and there will be the opportunity for students to meet with practitioners to discuss issues related to research or career opportunities.
We also offer dissertation projects in collaboration with investment practitioners in Edinburgh.
The University of Edinburgh Business School is recognised as a partner institution by the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA©) Institute. This means that the MSc in Finance and Investment is judged by the Institute as covering in some way at least 70 per cent of the CFA curriculum. The degree will therefore assist those who choose to study for the CFA qualification.
The Business School is also recognised as a Centre of Excellence in the provision of postgraduate education in finance and investment by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI). Students who have passed the MSc in Finance and Investment can apply for exemption from the CISI Diploma exams.
