Eric McAfee is a serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist based in Silicon Valley, who has founded companies in renewable energy, oil & gas, telecoms, networking and software.

He is the Chairman of McAfee Capital in Cupertino, California, a managing director at Cagan McAfee Capital Partners, and has invested in more than twenty companies through Berg McAfee Companies.

Eric is the founding shareholder of seven companies that were taken public.

In 2011, he was appointed as a GlobalScot by the First Minister of Scotland to advise on renewable energy and emerging company growth. Eric is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Aemetis Inc., a $180 million revenues company that holds 5 patents on microbial production of renewable chemicals and fuels. He also founded Evolution Petroleum, a natural gas and oil producer using enhanced oil recovery technology.

Co-founded by McAfee, Pacific Ethanol  is now a $800 million revenues ethanol supplier that raised $84 million from Bill Gates' investment firm, Cascade Investments, and then raised $145 million at a $1.1 billion valuation in 2006. He co-founded Procera Networks and Solargen, which developed a 300 megawatt solar farm in California.

In 1986, Eric graduated as the Dean’s Medalist from the Fresno State University Business School. He is a graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program, and the Harvard Business School Private Equity and Venture Capital Program. Eric served as a 2007 Entrepreneur in Residence at The Wharton School MBA Program.
