Benny Higgins; First Minister's Strategic Advisor on the creation of the Scottish National Investment Bank

Overview

Benny Higgins is one of Scotland's best-known businessmen. He spent a decade as Chief Executive of Tesco Bank and served as Director of Strategy on the main board of Tesco. Benny currently chairs the National Galleries of Scotland, Buccleuch Estates, Kyckr, Forster Chase Advisory, and Sistema. He serves as the First Minister's strategic advisor on the creation of the Scottish National Investment Bank. Benny is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and earlier this year was appointed honorary professor at the University of Edinburgh Business School.

Benny is passionate about the importance of leaders engaging with a broad range of different fields. The lecture will explore the principles of business and art, and why he believes aspiring leaders should place great value on both. The talk will reflect on key lessons from Benny's career, and there will be plenty of time for Q&A.
