Following the success of our first 'In Discussion' Session with Alan Jope, we're pleased to confirm we will now host a full series of these events from August 2020 to July 2021.

Les Matheson has led one of the most significant global banking turnarounds of recent times.

We'll be talking about the profound challenges and opportunities facing the global banking sector, opportunities created through innovative technology, and workplace culture.

Throughout the session we will answer questions submitted from attendees in the chat box. You will also have the chance to submit questions in advance of the event during your registration.

About the Speaker

Les is joining National Australia Bank as CEO in January 2021. Until recently, he was CEO of RBS Personal and Business Banking (UK and Ireland), where he led one of the most significant global banking turnarounds of recent times. He first joined the Group in January 2010 as Managing Director of Retail Products and Marketing.

Prior to joining the Group, Les served as Group Executive at St George Bank, part of the Westpac Group. He also spent 11 years at Citibank where he held a series of senior roles including Head of Wealth Management and Marketing for Asia Pacific, and CEO of Citibank Australia.

Les holds a Certified Bank Director qualification and is a Fellow of the Chartered Banker Institute.

He has formerly held a number of roles including Deputy Chairman of the Australian Bankers' Association, member of the University of Edinburgh Court, and Director of Visa Europe.
