Despite the fact that it is well-known that socioeconomic factors can gear more effective disaster management practices, only a few studies propose the inclusion of such elements in designing an optimised logistics planning for disaster relief.
In this talk, we will show how socioeconomic data on the population living in disaster-risky areas can be used to enhance typical strategic and tactical decisions for relief facility location. Our framework will be illustrated based on data from flood and landslide disasters in Brazil.
