Overview
Has the promise of a 'New Politics' been delivered? During this, the 25th anniversary-year of the original Scotland Act, come along and hear an open discussion between:
- Professor James Mitchell; who is Professor of Public Policy at Edinburgh University
- Esther Roberton; who was Co-ordinator of the Scottish Constitutional Convention, during the 1990's
- Stephen Noon; who was the Chief Strategist for "Yes Scotland" during the 2014 Referendum on Independence
- Andrew Burns; who led a Labour/SNP Coalition, which ran the City of Edinburgh Council between 2012-2017
There will be a guided conversation between the four participants, and the opportunity for Q&A. The aim of the session is to gather insights from the experience of consensus building, especially via the Scottish Constitutional Convention, in the creation of the Parliament; and to establish whether these insights can offer new understandings for the current constitutional debate in Scotland.
