Overview

This is a joint event with the Business School, the Scotland-Russia Forum and Cable Dialogues.

Since 2014 there has been a marked deterioration in Russia’s relations with the west following the Ukraine crisis and the imposition by both sides of economic sanctions. Russia’s economy is only now starting to emerge from the severe recession caused by the oil price collapse. Notwithstanding the political and economic headwinds, there are opportunities in Russia for enterprising British companies in both traditional and new fields, and not just with the World Cup 2018.

Ian Proud will outline the current situation and discuss prospects for a variety of people to people links, including educational links.

Coffee and registration from 17:30. The event will be followed by a networking drinks reception.
