Before applying for a project, please consider whether you meet the minimum academic requirements for the PhD in Financial Technology.

2. Find a supervisor or project

Review our staff profiles to see if supervision can be secured for your project or see if any projects are currently open for applications. Please note, each project may have additional requirements above the minimum entry requirement for the programme, and each has their own deadline.

3. Review required documents

For those wishing to research their own project you must submit a research proposal. For those applying for an industry project you must submit a cover letter as part of your application (instead of the research proposal) along with other necessary documents.

4. Submit your application

Applications are only accepted through our online application portal. If applying for an industry project please state the name of the project on your application.

Important points to remember

  • Each project will include a formal interview
  • For each project you would like to be considered for you must submit a cover letter as part of your formal application (instead of the traditional research proposal)
  • When completing your programme application online, you cannot save your progress, so please have your required documents to hand before starting the process
  • You will receive a Universal Username (UUN) at the end of the application process, which should be used in all correspondence with us
