Fair and Ethical AI for Credit Decisions
My research focuses on exploring the ethical application of machine learning tools to pressing societal problems, particularly the expansion of credit access to underserved groups. As alternative credit decisioning tools are becoming increasingly utilized by FinTechs, the ethical implications as well as its predictability and fairness measures are yet to be determined.
Savina is a first year PhD student at the University of Edinburgh Business School and the Edinburgh Futures Institute. She has been awarded the Baillie Gifford PhD studentship in the Ethics of Data and AI.
