Director of Professional Services
Roles and Responsibilities
Ann has overall responsibility for the professional services staff and services in the School, is a member of the School Executive Team, and works closely with the Dean and the senior management team on the development of plans and policies to enable the School to deliver its key strategic objectives. Ann has specific responsibility for financial and resource planning. Her direct reports are the Heads of the School's professional services teams - Student Experience; Research & PhD; Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions; Operations; Digital Services; PR, Comms & Events; Partnership Development; Executive Development; plus the Quality & Accreditation team via a 'dotted' relationship with the Director of Quality & Accreditation.
Ann is also involved with a variety of College and University initiatives, and meets regularly with the College Registrar and the other Directors of Professional Services in CAHSS; the Registrar is line manager for all DoPS in the College.
Ann’s professional background is in accountancy, qualifying as a CA with Ernst & Whinney, one of the precursors of Ernst and Young.
Ann was appointed to head the administration in the School at the beginning of 2002, during its brief incarnation as the Division of Economics and Management. The general University restructuring was implemented in the summer of 2002, resulting in the creation of the School of Economics and Management – subsequently renamed the Management School and Economics, and then, in 2008, the Business School. (at which point a separate School of Economics was also established).
