My career has focussed on supporting students on their academic journey from the point of their application until their final graduation. I deal with any issues of concern that students have and make sure they have the best experience possible throughout their studies. I studied public relations as well as completing the Mental Health First Aid Course and the Aspiring Manager Programme within Edinburgh University.

I have been working at The University of  Edinburgh 18 years and previously worked at Sabanci University in Turkey

Prior to my current role, I worked as Visiting Students Officer in the College of Science and Engineering Office. This involved working closely with agencies and international students.  Part of my role there was to review applications fully and make offers. I managed visiting students’ enquiries and organised welcome events which involved coordinating with other departments. In addition, my duties also required liaising with Recruitment Officers to increase student numbers. I maintained and added visiting students’ websites for the College Office, improving overall efficiency while allowing students to access information directly.

During my employment as part of the Recruitment and Admissions Team, I reviewed applications to the College of Science and Engineering both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. In this role, I developed valuable knowledge and understanding of UK, EU and non-EU qualifications. I also attended many open days and dealt with individual visitors' enquiries.

I enjoy running, cycling, playing flute and harp.
