Post Doctoral Research Fellow
Jakov holds a PhD in Management from the University of Edinburgh Business School. In his role as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, he is involved in the delivery of NORFACE Dynamics of Inequality Across the Life-course (DIAL) Joint Research Programme, entitled Dynamics of Accumulated Inequalities for Seniors in Employment. This comparative project is being undertaken across five European countries (UK, Switzerland, Ireland, Sweden, and Czech Republic).
Jakov’s research interests span several fields, including organisational behaviour, cultural studies, organisational justice and equality, management education and learning, and valuation studies. His doctoral project explored management education as a complex and constantly changing social and political process within an increasingly commercialised environment. More specifically, he employed qualitative research methods to explore how organisational spaces and ranking mechanisms influence student educational experiences, and mediate relationships between students and business schools.
Jakov has reviewed for Management Learning, European Management Journal and Employee Relations. He regularly reviews for and presents his work at international conferences in management studies and sociology, including the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, EGOS, International CMS Conference, and BSA Work, Employment and Society conference, among others.
