Jason Rose Headshot

PR and Communications Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

I advise the Business School on its external and internal communication priorities, working closely with the Dean, Director of Engagement and other senior colleagues.

I ensure a pipeline of news stories, commentary and content for the media, our website, our social media channels and our e-newsletter, reflecting our research, teaching and collaboration with business.

I also oversee our internal communications channels and all-staff moments such as the regular School Forum.

I support academic colleagues with writing to demonstrate impact, and I advise on engagement opportunities with influential organisations and decision-makers.

Background

Before joining the Business School in February 2019, I worked in the Scottish Parliament as Head of Media for the Scottish Greens, leading the MSPs' relations with press and broadcasters through six elections and two referendums. I covered the full range of policy issues, including education, the economy, housing, health and transport.

Before that I worked in a senior corporate PR role at Scottish Water, handling varied topics including capital investment, public health and climate change. I began my career as a radio newsreader, reporter and programme presenter for both BBC and commercial radio.
