
Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Institutions
Background
Matteo Ronzani joined the Business School in 2023 as Senior Lecturer. Previously, he held academic positions at the Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) and the University of Edinburgh School of Social and Political Science. Matteo received his PhD from the University of Edinburgh in 2019 and his MSc from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2015.
Matteo's research is interdisciplinary and situated at the intersection of organization theory, accounting, and the sociology of quantification. He investigates how ideas, practices, and technologies travel and their effects and unintended consequences in organizations, institutions, and society. He has published in leading journals, including Accounting, Organizations and Society and Organization Studies. Currently, he is primarily interested in gamification and algorithmic control, along with issues connected to the roles of data visualizations and multimodal communication in organizations.
Matteo is involved in the School's executive education provision and in consulting and impact projects in several departments of the UK Government.
