Background

Dr Yupu Zhang joined the University of Edinburgh Business School as a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Sustainable Finance in 2023. He is also affiliated with the Centre for Business, Climate Change and Sustainability (B-CaSS) at the business school.

Prior to joining the University of Edinburgh, Yupu worked as Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Finance at the Adam Smith Business School, University of Glasgow. He is a visiting professor at the University of Hong Kong and Tsinghua University since 2022. He was a visiting scholar at Imperial College London during the year 2019-2020.

Education:

  • PhD in Finance at University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, China (2021);
  • MSc in Financial Engineering at the New York University, New York, USA (2016);
  • BSc in Physics at the Renmin University of China, Beijing, China (2014). 

Research Interests

His work mainly centers around climate finance, green finance, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG). His research articles have been published in finance journals, including the Journal of Corporate Finance and the Journal of Alternative Investments. He served as the referee for top journals including Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, and Review of Finance.
