The Business School is delighted to host a unique new Fringe event this August featuring some of the most prominent, influential and recognised people in media.

The Media Series at the Fringe brings together 6 public figures in interview style sessions with Professor Chris Carter, Chair in Strategy & Organisation at the School, to explore critical issues affecting the media today.

The series commences on 14 August with political journalist and former editor of The Scotsman, Iain Martin, who talks to Chris about his highly acclaimed book on the collapse of RBS, “Making it Happen”, looking also at the lessons financial journalism can learn from the economic crisis.

Award-winning BBC broadcaster, journalist and author, Gavin Esler, joins Chris on 17 August to talk about the implications of the public’s loss of trust in many key institutions; while on 18 August, journalist and Hubris author, Ray Perman, talks to Chris about the role of financial journalism in making organisations more accountable.

Chris is also joined by investigative journalist, Chris Mullin, media strategist, Peter Jay, and Guardian columnist, Polly Toynbee.
