Help us support our students in breaking through boundaries and writing the future by donating to the School.

Students in a lecture theatre smiling

Business School students have been writing the future since 1919. From campaigning for gender equality in the workplace to pioneering internet privacy, they have gone on to shape business and culture around the world.

We are proud of what our students have achieved and we want to make sure we can continue to support our future leaders. We aim to make a Business School education accessible to all, and provide exceptional personal and professional development and wellbeing support to our students throughout their studies.

Join us in empowering our students to break boundaries and shape their future.

Supporting student experience and wellbeing

Alongside our teaching and research, the University of Edinburgh Business School provides practical and inspiring opportunities that prepare our students for life beyond their studies.

The UEBS Student Experience Fund supports students' personal and professional development, as well as their wellbeing. These initiatives help build confidence, self-awareness, and curiosity, reflecting our strong commitment to inclusion and community. Recent activities supported by the fund include a student welcome film, International Week, and a Breakfast Club.

Student welcome film

The transition to university is a pivotal moment for our first year undergraduates. To support students entering a new environment, one of our graduate leaders (enrolled on the UEBS graduate scheme) produced a welcome film showcasing our diverse student community and key support services such as Student Advisers, Cohort Leads, BizPALS, and student societies.

Emphasising the importance of seeking support and engaging with peers, the film helps new students navigate their first months confidently.

International Week

Our annual International Week (now in its third year) helps to build a vibrant community, celebrates cultural diversity, and provides a platform for students to explore global career opportunities.

The event includes alumni career panels featuring alumni, working across different countries and industries; multicultural society fairs; language sessions; and a photo competition. In February 2025, over 500 students attended and engaged meaningfully in this impactful event.

Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club provides a free weekly breakfast within the Business School, offering students a supportive space to start their day. This student-led initiative fosters community interaction and ensures proper nutrition. In its pilot phase, nearly all participants reported enhanced student experiences and improved belonging, recommending its continuation. Weekly attendance averaged 65-70 students, facilitating cross-year mentoring and peer engagement.

Supporting access to education

Diversity and inclusion underpin our School's ethos. However, financial barriers still prevent many talented students from accessing higher education. We aim to remove these barriers by offering more scholarships at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. With your help, we can open doors for students from diverse backgrounds to study in Edinburgh.
