Ashley's research interests can be described from a corporate perspective as 'application of advanced technologies to business processes in order to improve competitiveness'.
Current research is aligned with Data Science, eSocial Science and Innovation/Competitiveness agendas, and includes work on Big Data in China, Grid and Cloud Computing, Consumer Behaviour Modelling, Customer Relationship Management, and Model-driven Innovation in New Product/Service Development.
