Since completing his MBA at the University of Edinburgh Business School in 1996, David sees his proudest achievement as publishing a modernised Rules of Golf in 2019 following a seven-year review.

"Surprising but flattering!"
What made you choose to study at the University of Edinburgh Business School?
"A high-quality institution, with a good mix of academic and more practical teaching—all based in a special city."
What are your memories of studying at the Business School?
"It is a long time ago (over 30 years!) but I have happy memories of a varied and interesting degree. Also, I made a number of friends for life around the Business School."
What's the one thing you think current students need to develop or learn before entering the modern workplace?
"Even in our digital and technology enabled world, the workplace still revolves around people and relationships. Develop your EQ as much as your technical skills."
What key thing that you learnt at the Business School do you still rely on today?
"My year of law has proved very beneficial as these disciplines are very relevant to writing the playing rules for the sport of golf."
Proudest work-related achievement to date?
"The publication of the new, modernised Rules of Golf in 2019 after a seven-year review, including many stakeholders from around the world."
