Our fully online MSc Data and Decision Analytics programme blends theoretical foundations with a practical hands-on learning experience in the form of tutorials and computer lab classes. You will be able to engage in this programme through live online sessions, which will also be recorded. In this way, this master’s degree strikes a balance between real-time participation and flexible learning.

Scheduling your studies

You should plan to set aside approximately 15 hours per week for reading, lectures, tutorials, and completing assignments. This is an average requirement across the duration of the two years of this MSc programme and it will vary depending on the course and the assignment deadlines. During peak periods, you may need to commit additional time.

Live sessions

Live sessions for our MSc Data and Decision Analytics (Online) programme will be scheduled to take place between 09:00 and 18:00 GMT.

We are currently planning for live online sessions to take place on Mondays and Tuesdays only, with a maximum of four hours required across these two days. Depending on your time zone, you may be able to attend sessions before or after your regular working hours. If you are unable to attend a live session, recordings will be made available so you can catch up with the learnings at a time that suits you.

Format

Lectures will introduce the theoretical foundation of the subject in focus, while tutorials and computer labs will give you hands-on experience and allow you to practice the conceptual learnings gained from the lectures.

All programme materials will be available on the University’s online platform, Learn. This includes videos, slides, briefings, and other additional resources. Recordings of all online lectures, tutorials, and computer lab sessions will also be provided.

Assessment is coursework-based. You will submit projects, essays, and other assignments through Learn and Turnitin platforms. Feedback will also be shared via these same platforms.

All students have access to university services. If you are within travelling distance, you may want to use the libraries and study spaces on campus throughout the duration of your masters study.

Students will also connect through discussion forums, group projects, and other online tools, encouraging interaction and collaboration throughout the MSc programme.
