The Business School has capitalised on opportunities afforded by our Edinburgh location and cultivated links with other parts of the University to develop and lead new areas of expertise, in financial services and FinTech, creative industries, and digital tourism.

The key unifying factor is Data-Driven Innovation (DDI). The School is heavily involved in the DDI programme through its leadership of the Edinburgh Futures Institute (EFI) and our Director of Engagement (Owen Kelly) is also Deputy Director of EFI, ensuring alignment of engagement strategies.

Our long-standing expertise in credit research was instrumental to the University’s success in securing UK Strength in Places funding for the Global Open Finance Centre of Excellence (GOFCoE), which aims to 'safely unlock the potential of customer data as a force to improve lives'.

Business School researchers have collaborated in DDI projects through the Bayes Centre, the University’s innovation centre for data science and artificial intelligence.
