Background
Joanne O’Callaghan is a financial services lawyer who has extensive multi-jurisdictional experience, having worked in private practice and as in house counsel across Asia Pacific, EMEA and North America.
Most recently, Joanne was based in Boston and headed the global legal support for the asset servicing division of State Street Corporation, where she oversaw a team of attorneys across multiple markets including Boston, Toronto, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney, London, Edinburgh, Dublin, Frankfurt, Luxembourg and Milan. Prior to that, she was based in Hong Kong and held the position of Regional Counsel for Asia Pacific, with responsibility for legal support across all of State Street’s business lines, including asset management, capital markets and asset servicing. Before joining State Street, she worked with Freehills in Sydney.
Joanne holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney.
In addition to serving on the International Advisory Board for the University of Edinburgh Business School, Joanne chairs the Redfern Neighbourhood Advisory Board in Sydney, which brings together tenant representatives and relevant government and community representatives to improve the quality of life for people living in the Redfern housing estate.
