In July, Business School alumni in Mumbai and Delhi enjoyed masterclasses delivered by Dr Winston Kwon, Chancellor’s Fellow, on the ‘Challenges of Scaling Social Innovation’.
The events were part of the Business School’s new alumni international engagement programme.
Prospective students and offer-holders also attended the masterclasses and enjoyed the opportunity to talk to locally based alumni about their experiences while in Edinburgh.
Dr Winston Kwon was accompanied on the trip by Ayesha Sodha (Business Development Manager) and Amrita Sadarangani (Regional Director – South Asia).
India is a pioneer in social innovation through its numerous NGOs, social enterprises, CSR initiatives and other state-run approaches. During the trip, they established relations with a number of organisations including Dasra, Teach for India, World Bank (India) and the Centre of Environmental Education (CEE).
Outcomes from the trip include the development of an innovative cross-disciplinary trek to India for undergraduates including Business School students. There was also a lot of interest from partners on collaborative research opportunities, especially in the areas of impact measurement and sustainability.
