Background

Liz was appointed CEO of the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce in 2016 following 6 years in various senior roles at the Chamber. Liz sits on a range of civic boards in the city including the Edinburgh City Vision Steering Group, the Festivals Forum, the Edinburgh Development Forum, the Strategic Implementation Group, and the Economic Advisory Panel. She also chairs the City’s Just Economic Transition Group.

Liz is also a member of the Regional Enterprise Council, a governor of Fettes College, and a trustee of the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh Foundation.

Prior to joining the Chamber Liz enjoyed an entrepreneurial career spanning 16 years, founding Le Bistro Hospitality, Scotland’s largest independent hospitality company, which she led to a successful exit in 2001.

In 2005 Liz joined Deloitte to lead their Brand and Business Development for Scotland. In 2007 she became a Director at Ernst & Young, heading up their Market Leadership Strategy as Business Development Leader UK and Ireland.

Liz joined Edinburgh Chamber in 2010 becoming Group Commercial Director in 2012 and has project managed the ‘Scottish Low Carbon Investment Conference’ in conjunction with Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Government. In 2011 she was seconded to Essential Edinburgh as interim Chief Executive.
