Roles and Responsibilities

Rachel is responsible for developing and maintaining the School’s relationships with companies and organisations primarily with a focus on postgraduate student engagement. Rachel works closely with colleagues and external partners to provide a range of opportunities activities including guest speakers, industry based student consultancy projects, company visits and dissertation topics.  This engagement with businesses aims to provide reciprocal benefits; enhancing student experience, teaching and learning alongside sharing fresh ideas and perspectives with the business community.

Background

Rachel joined the School in July 2022.  Prior to this, Rachel worked at the University’s Study and Work Away service in Edinburgh Global where she was responsible for co-ordinating the Placement-based dissertation scheme for MSc students in School of Social and Political Science.   An alum of the University of Edinburgh with an undergraduate degree in Archaeology, Rachel also has an MSc Zooarchaeology and PhD in Archaeology both from the University of York.
