A huge congratulations to the Introduction to Financial Markets course students who were sponsored by the University of Edinburgh Business School to take The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) Professional Qualification exam — and successfully passed the International Introduction to Securities and Investment.

This prestigious CISI qualification is highly regarded in the financial services sector, demonstrating a strong understanding of financial markets while supporting students’ professional development.

This year 15 students participated: Louie Apicella, Skye Bramzell, Qiao Xuan Cheong, William Connellan, Filip Drucker, Elvis Freimanis, Sander Burton Gran, Konrad Magnus, Steven Service, Gauri Srivastava, Kyn-Han Tang, Mia Taylor, Tianyou Yu, Nathan Wilson, and Ziyu Xun. An exceptional achievement, as four students - Skye Bramzell, Steven Service, Gauri Srivastava and Tianyou Yu - earned Merit marks.

This sponsorship scheme has been running successfully for seven years now with an outstanding 100% success rate. According to CISI representatives, the University of Edinburgh remains the only institution in the UK to achieve such stellar results! This qualification has helped many of our students secure internships and job offers at top institutions, including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Lloyds, JP Morgan, Barclays, BlackRock, Lazard, and many more.

This year’s success was further highlighted by Keira Hovorka, who was awarded CISI Scottish Winner for the Introduction to Securities and Investments (International) exam. A final-year Finance and Business student, Keira has already built an impressive career path, having completed her internship as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs, and securing a full-time role in Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs.

Another standout achievement came from Gauri Srivastava, an MA Honours Accounting and Finance student, who won a £1,000 prize in the CISI Educational Trust Global Awards 2025. Gauri was awarded the Highly Commended Prize in the Undergraduate category for her presentation in the regional competition and later participated in the CISI Educational Trust Global Awards Finals.
