Overview

This session is ideal for HR professionals, managers, team leaders as well as HRM and Management students who are looking to build a more inclusive workplace that embraces neurodiversity and supports the success of all employees.

Speakers

Beth Tappenden is an Inclusion & Wellbeing Advisor at Burness Paull LLP. Her role consists of developing and delivering training on inclusion and wellbeing topics, managing employee networks and reviewing policy and procedures to create a positive culture and employee experience. Her experience in the diversity, equity and inclusion space stems from advising clients on equitable recruitment practices and creating training as a speaker on gender and LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace. Following her HR Management MSc at the University of Edinburgh, she used her experience conducting a study on fostering inclusion for transgender employees, to deliver projects in other areas. Including neuroinclusion, parents and carers at work, and mental health.

Thomas Calvard is Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Organisation Studies at the University of Edinburgh Business School. His research focuses on how organisations, groups and individuals make sense of social perspectives, viewpoints, limits and boundaries, with an emphasis on identity, diversity, technology, change and ethics. He is also the current Co-Chair of the Business School Equality and Diversity Committee.

Debora Gottardello is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Employment Relations at the UEBS. Her research focuses on diversity and inclusion, spanning various subfields such as gender, neurodiversity, religious beliefs, menopause, and the future of work.

Lila Skountridaki is a Senior Lecturer in Organisation Studies at the UEBS. Her research focuses on the sociology of work and occupations and employment relations. Most recently Lila has been studying flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work, remote work and the four day work-week through the lens of employee voice, job quality and work extensification.
