The three-day Conference broke all records with the largest number of delegates in attendance and nearly 100 papers delivered in total. Over 400 delegates came from 35 different countries including New Zealand, Norway, the US, Malaysia and Taiwan.
The Conference included a great mix of papers with just over half coming from practitioners and the rest from academics. Mr Simon Thompson, Chief Executive of the Chartered Banker Institute opened the Conference and invited speakers included Professor Nick Keifer, Cornell University, New York, who explained the work he had completed on count models. Dr Paul Russell from Experian spoke about the challenges of Big Data and Nick Strange, Prudential Regulatory Authority, outlined recent approaches by the UK regulator. Other papers covered a very wide variety of topics including the incorporation of states of the macro-economy in credit risk models, including psychometric tests in such models, models that assist banks in complying with the Basel Accord requirements, models to predict fraud and social network aspects of credit scoring to name just a few.
A conference dinner at the Sheraton Hotel in Edinburgh was enjoyed by all who attended and delegates also had the opportunity to get involved a number of social events including a sightseeing boat trip on the Firth of Forth and a Royal Mile Ghost Tour.
Thanks go to the sponsors Paragon Business Solutions, Experian, Fair Isaac, Caledonia Credit Consultancy, Oxford University Press, Credit Today and 4Most for helping to make the Credit Scoring Conference such a success.
