Since completing her BCom, Nandita has gone on to work for various companies supporting Indian businesses in the UK and Europe, and was recently recognised as one of the 100 Most Influential in UK India relations by India Inc.
How does it feel to be selected for the Alumni 100 list?
"It's an honour to be selected in the Alumni 100 list."
What made you choose to study at the University of Edinburgh Business School?
"I chose to study at the University of Edinburgh Business Shool as an undergraduate because of its reputation and selection of programmes offered. As I did not know what field of business I wanted to get into, the degree allowed me the flexibility of trying many different courses while giving me an understanding of the modern business world."
What are your memories of studying at the Business School?
"I remember fondly my time attending lectures in George Square and the extensive facilities at the Business School and Main Library."
What key thing that you learnt at the Business School do you still rely on today?
"The accounting and business courses gave me a strong platform to build on when I left and joined one of the Big 4 accounting firms to become a Chartered Accountant. Those were the building blocks of my career today working for an investment fund."
What's the one thing you think current students need to develop or learn before entering the modern workplace?
"Get as much exposure to the outside corporate world as possible during your study. It makes you more relevant to future employers."
Proudest work-related achievement to date?
"In 2019, I was recognised by India Inc. as one of the 100 Most Influential in UK India Relations."
