How does it feel to be selected for the Alumni 100 list?

What made you choose to study at the University of Edinburgh Business School?

"University reputation, best business programme in the UK, and of course the amazing city."

What are your memories of studying at the Business School?

"Developing lifelong friendships, small discussion classes, playing badminton at the Pleasance, spending at year at Penn, drinking cider at many bars, and climbing Arthur's Seat."

What key thing that you learnt at the Business School do you still rely on today?

"The numbers really matter and it's key to be able to read an income statement. Edinburgh taught me how to understand that."

What's the one thing you think current students need to develop or learn before entering the modern workplace?

"How to get the best out of your team and colleagues, and of course understand the numbers and the power of analytical rigour."

Proudest work-related achievement to date?

"Becoming a Senior Partner at McKinsey when I was 38 years old."
