What made you choose to study at the University of Edinburgh Business School?
"I wanted to learn how to solve the problem of climate change through market-based mechanisms, and at that time the University of Edinburgh Business School offered the groundbreaking MSc programme in Carbon Management. It was the first of its kind in the world that was very interdisciplinary as it covered the business, science, and policy aspects of climate change."
What are your memories of studying at the Business School?
"Great moments with amazing classmates from diverse academic backgrounds and different countries."
What key thing that you learnt at the Business School do you still rely on today?
"Being proactive and compassionate were the skills I learnt while doing group assignments. That has become my mantra, be it in professional career or personal life!"
What's the one thing you think current students need to develop or learn before entering the modern workplace?
"Develop the right attitude of being proactive and compassionate so that you will be good at problem solving and become a better team player."
Proudest work-related achievement to date?
"I have managed to pull together a team and raised capital to launch a waste-to-energy business called Gandaki Urja, which has multiple benefits: manages organic waste, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and creates jobs!"
