Since completing her degree in 1990, Gail has built her career in both commercial and not-for-profit sectors, working for companies such as the Accent Group, Johnnie Johnson Housing, and the Leeds and Yorkshire Housing Association.

"Fantastic."
What made you choose to study at the University of Edinburgh Business School?
"The opportunity to study with a diverse group of students doing diverse degrees. It made for a great variety in discussions and that diversity is really relevant today."
What are your memories of studying at the Business School?
"Queuing for popular books—bet that doesn't happen now! Endless cups of tea in the library with friends."
What's the one thing you think current students need to develop or learn before entering the modern workplace?
"Communication skills are the most important skill you learn and are relevant whatever industry you end up in."
What key thing that you learnt at the Business School do you still rely on today?
"Valuing the opinion of others."
Proudest work-related achievement to date?
"Becoming CEO at Broadacres, an amazing organisation that makes a difference to so many people by providing safe, secure, and warm homes."
