Today, we stand on the threshold of a new journey, taking with us years of learning, hard work and growth. Today is more than just the completion of a degree; it’s a moment to consider the kind of world we are walking into - and the kind of world we’re determined to build.
Looking back on our time here, we recognise that university was more than just gaining knowledge; it was about growing in resilience, compassion and a deep understanding of what it means to be part of a global community.
We come from different backgrounds, perspectives and paths, yet we are united by the same hope for a future that is both just and meaningful.Enia Loeza
At times, we might feel frustration with the world around us - the feeling that the systems we rely on don’t always seem to reward the values we hold dear. But alongside this, we’ve found something profound: the strength of our shared humanity. We’ve learned that real progress is born not out of complacency but from the courage to question, to empathise, and to create solutions that uplift everyone.
The University has prepared us with tools to analyse, to strategise, and to lead. But perhaps the greatest lessons have come from learning the value of integrity, the importance of empathy, and the realisation that real change often comes in the small, consistent steps we take. In every decision we make, big or small, we have the power to act with integrity and to consider how our actions impact the world around us. This is a responsibility we share as graduates - and it’s also our opportunity.

Let’s remember that the choices we make in our careers and in our lives can become positive forces. Whether we’re working in business, technology, public service or any field, our work is not just about personal achievement; it’s about contributing to a greater good. We can approach our careers with a spirit of compassion, solidarity and a commitment to creating a better, more sustainable future. And we don’t have to do this alone.
By collaborating across cultures, industries, and perspectives, we multiply the impact we can have, inspiring others along the way.Enia Loeza
Throughout history, universities have been centres for ideas and innovation but also revolution. We are now part of that legacy and we have the privilege of carrying it forward. This isn’t about grand gestures alone but about building habits of integrity, kindness and respect. These values can be revolutionary in their own quiet way, shaping the world from the inside out.
Our path forward may not always be easy. We’ll face challenges, we’ll make mistakes, and at times, we may even question our direction. But when those moments come, let’s look back on today. Remember that we’ve already faced so much, learned so much, and grown so much. We’ve shared late nights, breakthroughs, hard-won accomplishments, life crises and even epiphanies. And through it all, we’ve learned to support one another and find strength in our shared journey.
Today, as we prepare to leave this university and step into new roles, let us carry forward this commitment. Let’s be the graduates who prioritise integrity and empathy, who seek out solutions that uplift, and who understand that true success is about more than just personal gain.
We have the friends, skills, the vision and the responsibility to make a meaningful difference.Enia Loeza
To the faculty and staff - thank you for your unwavering dedication and support. Your guidance has been invaluable, and your passion for teaching has ignited our own.
To our families and friends who have supported us along the way - thank you for your love, encouragement and sacrifices. Today’s achievement belongs to you as well.
To the Class of 2024 - keep your integrity, use your privilege, adhere to your values, challenge the system, be brave and authentic and don’t let any institution corrupt your soul. Don’t be complicit but be the leaders that care more about soul than ego, because even if we find that sometimes business can be just about profit, life is about purpose.
