We are really delighted to announce that Professor Gavin Jack has been appointed the incoming Dean of the University of Edinburgh Business School.

Currently the Head of the Department of Management at Monash University, Gavin will take up the role in May 2024. His multidisciplinary research interests and expertise include workplace diversity and inclusion, postcolonial organisation studies, sustainable agricultural development, and qualitative and critical management research methods.

Wendy Loretto, who has been Dean of the School since February 2017, and who will be reprising her full-time role as Professor of Organisational Behaviour, said: ‘It has been an immense privilege to lead the Business School through a time of change, growth and quality improvement. Gavin is absolutely the right person to help us realise our ambitions as world-leaders in making business better'.

Upon accepting his new role, Gavin said: ‘I am delighted to be joining the Business School and a world-class University committed to addressing the grand challenges of the time. I very much look forward to working with colleagues, students, alumni and external partners of the School, College and University more broadly, and further building the scholarly excellence, social purpose and impact of the Business School locally and globally.
