This 10 week programme brings together experts from the Business School, School of Informatics and School of Political Science. You’ll learn through a mixture of self-paced study, facilitated live discussions and panel discussions with industry experts.

Overview

In this 10 week course you will study:

  • Introductory FinTech fundamentals and terminology
  • Blockchain technology and its applications for the financial sector
  • Alternative finance sources, such as equity crowdfunding
  • The use of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in finance
  • The transformative role of technology in trading
  • The risks and regulations of FinTech
  • New trends in FinTech, including InsurTech and Sustainable Digital Finance
  • The importance of design in the adoption of FinTech applications.

Each academic session will be complemented by a panel discussion with industry speakers from leading organisations, such as FinTech Scotland, the London Stock Exchange Group and the World Economic Forum.

This week you will get to know the cohort and the presenters who will guide you through the content. You'll access the learning platform and pre-reading materials, and take part in a reflective exercise.
